Our Role
Seedling Projects was asked to create a lunch for the 720 participants that would bring to life positive working solutions to the challenges facing the food system. With support from Kaiser Permanente, Seedling Projects assembled a team of local corporations and non profits to collaborate on lunch and ensure each element - from the grain and vegetable heavy menu to the choice of local flowers - carried a message. Bon Appetit Management Company cooked a meal that showcased Spring bounty using ingredients sourced from 18 local farms, local farmers attended as table hosts, 300 children in the Farm to Desk education program created art to adorn the tables and DC Central Kitchen's "Fresh Start" program graduates helped to serve lunch.
